Fighting Handgun is a moderate paced, advanced-level course that includes; 1 full day of live-fire tactical training, and 1 full day of scenario-based Force-on-Target and Force-on-Force training utilizing Simunition. Students must arrive to class safe and proficient with their duty handgun.
(Day 1)
Tactical Fundamentals, Workspace, Unconventional Shooting Positions, Optimizing Cover, Deliberate and Dynamic Movement, Threat Assessment & Discrimination / Step- by-Step Processing on Steel & Paper and Fighting from Contact and CQB Distances (Force-on-Target ).
(Day 2)
Threat Discrimination / Step-by-Step Processing (Force-on-Force FX), Ground Fighting & Recovery, Managing Cover, and Tueller Exercises.
Required Gear: Gun Belt and Holster, Magazine Pouches, Duty Pistol 9mm or larger, Inert Blue Gun, 10 Rounds of Inert Dummy Rounds, 300 Rounds of Factory Ammunition (minimum), Eye and Ear Protection and Groin Protection for Force- on-Force.
Tuition includes: Simunition FX/ Man Marking Ammunition, FX Safety Equipment and use of Glock 17T Simunition Training Weapons for Force-on-Target and Force- on-Force Training.
Pre-requisites:
NYS Pistol License and DEFENSIVE HANDGUN 2, or equivalent, or Authority of Office.
